Nestled within a school complex, this garden extension transforms the environment into a vibrant multifunctional space that fosters education, social engagement, and ecological harmony. Positioned near the river, the design leverages its natural backdrop to create a serene yet dynamic outdoor environment, seamlessly integrating nature with student life. This thoughtfully curated space serves multiple functions, featuring an outdoor stage for live performances, seating areas for social interaction, bike parking, food stalls, and a fish pond, all woven together with lush greenery and sustainable elements. A unique addition-a bird nest installation adorning the back canopy of one of the school buildings-enhances biodiversity, allowing students to connect with the surrounding ecosystem. Simplicity and sustainability define the material palette, incorporating brick, concrete, tattoo bamboo for seating shelters, and minimal steel structures for bike parking. The integration of recycled materials, such as used tires repurposed as plant boundaries, reinforces an environmentally conscious design approach. Strategically placed shrubs improve air circulation and microclimate balance, creating a naturally ventilated, refreshing atmosphere. The space is further enriched with standing wall magazines, trash catchers, pendant lighting, and column-mounted lamps, ensuring functionality while enhancing aesthetics. More than just a landscape, this project reimagines outdoor learning and communal gathering, offering a sustainable, interactive, and nature-driven experience within an urban educational setting.
